What's in my Make Up Bag

Make up bag from Forever 21

This is what lies in my make up bag. I change this up regular as it gives me a chance to try out other products. I don't like to include brushes or lip sticks as it can get quite messy. But, this is basically what I use on my face daily and what I keep in my pretty little make up bag that my lovely friend, Emily bought me from Forever 21.

For the face, I keep two concealers. My Rimmel Wake Me Up and Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer. I don't wear foundation unless I really need to for smoothing so I keep my trusty Australis Fresh & Flawless pressed powder which gives me a little more coverage. To set my under eye concealer I use my E.L.F High Definition undereye setting powder.

I keep my wonderful Bourjois chocolate bronzer (which smells very nice) and my NYX Powder Blush in Mocha.

For the eyes I have my Rimmel Wonder'Ful Mascara and my Napoleon Perdis Matte Eye Ink eyeliner and a cheap eye lash curler *haha*.

I also keep my Benefit Gimmie Brow and a baby lips.

So, that's what's in my make up bag. I change this up occasionally as I get sick of the same products.

Oook bye

Review: Smashbox Full Exposer Palette

Very excited to own the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette!
I have heard both good and bad views but I thought i'd give it a go myself.

First impression: beautiful, sleek packaging.
I love the classic black and chic look to the palette.

This beauty comes with 14 eye shadows.
7 shimmer and 7 matte

The top row are all shimmer and the bottom row are all matte shades.

Shimmers
[Left to right] : S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7

These shades glide on really nice and have pretty good colour pay off on the eye lids.
I found the best way to get the most colour pay off is to use your fingers or a synthetic, flat top brush.
I'd say they give more of a glittery finish instead of a sheen which is really pretty.

Mattes:

[Left to right]: M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7

The mattes swatched really patchy but I promise they're not patchy on the eye lids. I've never been a huge fan of matte eye shadows because I feel like they're boring. These however, are really nice neutral shades for every day wear. The one thing I adore about these shades it the buttery texture. A lot of people say that they're not as pigmented but once you get the top layer off they give a better colour pay off.

Over all opinion

I enjoyed playing around with this palette. My thoughts were pretty high for this palette and I do really like it. I do not like the naming of the shades on the palette because I think it's boring but I do like the sleek packaging, the fact that it has a decent brush with it and the over all look. I prefer the shimmers over the mattes because I think they have a better colour pay off and glide on the lid nicely. I would recommend this if you're on the hunt for a good, universal palette.

Celeb Style File: Lily Collins

The most gorgeous Lily Collins has sparked my attention with her amazing style. She is known for her amazing eyebrows but what wins people over is her fashion taste. Here are some of my favourite looks on Lily.

Love this look on Lily. Very appropriate for those moving into fall. I love casual style with blue jeans, white shirt and green jacket.  I love how she added a black heel to give an edgy vibe to the look.

Love the simplicity of this outfit. Lily wore this to Comic Con and I love it! You can't go wrong with black, grey and white. The coordinates of top and bottom are very on trend!

I'm in love with this girly outfit on Lily! The colours compliment each other really well. The pointed black heel make the outfit feminine and girly. The simple gold chain necklace ties the outfit together without being too overwhelming.

Let's take a moment to talk about Bambi! This outfit is too cute.
The oversized jumper looks so cute with the heels. This look is super fun and can be easy to dress down with a pair of leggings and flats!

This look is so appropriate for those moving into the cooler weather. Very comfy and chic! I love the fedora! It has been a staple in basically everyone's outfits this season. It adds a little something extra to the look and I'm obsessed with it. The baggy pants are obviously very comfy as well and the coat.

♡  These are my favourite looks on the beautiful Lily Collins

Review: Rimmel London Wonder'Full Mascara

Finally got my hands on this bad boy that everyone is raving about.
( Rimmel London Wonder'Ful Mascara)

This mascara contains Argan oil which is supposed to be good for your lashes. The rose gold packaging stole my heart so I was very keen on trying it out.

It claims to have clump free volume & high definition mascara. I have short and stumpy lashes so this sounded good to me.

Pros:

- Natural
- Long lashes
- Wand is soft
- Build-able
- Works well on lower lashes
- Lashes feel soft
- No clumps

Cons:

- Doesn't give much volume
- Takes a while to build

Over all opinion:

This mascara is clump-free and natural looking. I love the wand because it's soft and easy to use. This mascara definitely takes time to build up but that's not a huge problem for me. The result is very natural so it's perfect for school, work or day to day wear. I'd say the mascara is more lengthening than volumizing. I haven't noticed a major difference in my lashes from the argan oil but my lashes definitely feel softer. If you're looking for a natural, clump free mascara, you should give this a try!

Taylor Swift: The Matching Sets

The long legs and blonde hair queen has done it again. Taylor Swift is loving coordinating her skirts and tops and this is how she does it:

Matching sets are so on trend. Allowing that peek of skin of the waist showing adds a flirtatious look and is very fashionable. I love how TS added the hot pink pumps and yellow bag to really add something to the 2 piece set.

Taylor wore this gorgeous outfit to the TCA's 2014. I love this look because of the yellow heels and the shade of green. They really compliment Tay's skin tone and look so gorgeous on her. Again, with the skin of waist peeking, this look is over all girly and glam!

I absolutely love this outfit! The colours are stunning and I love how she styled it with a classic pointed heel and nude bag. There's no waist peeking which gives a more classy and chic feel to the look.

I love the colours on this outfit! Very girly with the nude heels and pink lip. Taylor complimented the look with an orange bag which ties together with the colours on the 2 piece.

This outfit is adorable! Very 50's inspired. I love the cut of the skirt and I love how Taylor dressed it down with a pair of flats and small bag.

♡ I hope this gave you some tips on ways to style matching sets!
♡ Take advice on the beautiful Taylor Swift.

Feeling Behind

Have you ever been in a situation where you're walking with a group of people and you stop to tie your shoelace but they don't stop and wait for you? That feeling of being left behind. It's not really a satisfying feeling. I don't think anyone like's feeling that they're behind.

Besides the tying of the shoelace, what about when you're the only one in your group that has never been kissed, or the only one that has never had a boyfriend/girlfriend, or the only one who doesn't know what they want to be when they grow up. The littlest challenges that society wants us to achieve can make us feel pressured - and if we don't achieve them, we feel like we're "behind".

The most annoying part about growing up is hearing about "who kissed who", or "who's dating who." We tend to feel somewhat jealous - don't deny it. I admit I feel mindful about my surroundings but then again, who cares! We're only young, we shouldn't care about our next door neighbours first kiss.

"But why do I feel like I'm the only one who has never experienced these social contacts?"
- Well, society claims that if we don't have our first kiss in our teenage years, then we're not "fitting in with the social group". It's ridiculous. The time will come when we find our prince or princess but for now, what's the point of wasting precious time on waiting for someone to pucker up. I get that it's "experimentation" but really? Is it the end of the world if you don't kiss someone by the age of 18? or never get asked out at lunch time in front of your class mates?

Anyway, how about getting pressured by your surroundings when you still don't know what you want to be when you grow up? I'm sure that this thought comes across everyones mind on a daily basis but if your friends are talking about it, and you're unsure for yourself, don't get upset knowing that you're the only one who doesn't know because in reality, we're constantly changing our minds and it's so normal to not know who or what you want to be when you grow up because you can be anything your heart desires. We're still young!

So, if you ever feel like you're behind, even if it's behind on the latest celebrity gossip or the new iPhone, always remember to focus on what YOU want to do. Don't waste time worrying about other people because getting upset about not being kissed or not having a significant other will not get you anywhere in life.

Ok...

My Birthday Make Up

On the 1st of October, it was my birthday! and of course like most beauty fanatics, I played around with my products and came up with a simple, yet glam look to celebrate my birthday!

These are the products I used to create this look

♡  Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
♡ Australis Fresh & Flawless Powder
♡ NYX Blush in the shade 'Mocha'
 E.L.F Primer
♡ Stila Portrait of a Perfect Eye Palette
♡ Black kohl pencil
♡ Rimmel Wonder'Ful Mascara
♡ Ardel 109 Black Lashes
♡ Essence lip liner in 07 Cute Pink
♡ Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in "Afternoon Tea"

For the face:
I kept it super simple with my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer then followed by my Australis Fresh & Flawless Powder.
I used a pretty pink NYX Blush in the shade 'Mocha' on the apples of my cheeks to give a healthy finish to the skin.

For the eyes:
I started off priming my eye lids with my E.L.F Primer.
Followed by the second last shade from my Stila Portrait of a Perfect Eye Palette all over the lid.
I used the brown in the middle in the crease of my eye to warm up the look.
I then used a black kohl pencil (the name had rubbed off) on the upper and lower lash line then blending it out for a subtle smoke.
I then curled my lashes and applied my Rimmel Wonder'Ful Mascara.
Followed by Ardel 109 Black Lashes.

For the lips:
I lined my lips in this essence lip liner in 07 Cute Pink to make my lips look fuller then applied my Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in "Afternoon Tea".

and that was all. I had an amazing birthday and had so much fun with the ones I love.

September Beauty Favourites

September was a pretty crazy month for me. So many exciting things happening. I tried out quite a few new products and fell in love. Here are my September Beauty Favourites!

The products i've loved this month

1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: This product is amazing. It removes make up + cleanses and soothes the skin. You can use this all over your face, including eyes and lips. There's no perfume and it doesn't irritate the skin. I apply this on a cotton pad and wipe off my make up. It removes any excess dirt left on the skin and leaves a feeling of freshness. Definitely recommend picking this up.

2. Nivea Light Moisturising Day Cream, Normal & Combination Skin: In my last favourites I said I was using the Garnier Moisturiser, which I still absolutely love and use before bed. I needed a moisturiser with SPF so I picked this up and I love it! I use it every morning before make up application and it isn't heavy on the skin. It leaves my face feeling fresh and soft. It also has SPF 30 which is a necessity as the weather is getting warmer.

3. Body Shop Body Butter, Coconut: This is the nicest smelling body butter ever! I love this so much because (1) it's moisturising (2) it smells like coconuts and (3) I feel like I'm on an exotic island. This has a very butter texture and is super soft on the skin. The body shop have lowered their prices which is amazing for us Australians, (our prayers have been answered). Over all, this product is amazing, there's obviously other scents, I smell like a coconut when I use this and my skin feels super soft. Definitely recommend.

4. Macadamia Deep Repair Masque: This is only a packet size because I wanted to test it out and OH MY GOSH it's amazing! I got about 2-3 uses for my hair but you only need a little bit on the ends of the hair. I shampoo twice to cleanse the hair, leave this in for about 5-7 minutes then condition. This leaves my hair feeling so soft! Dry ends are not cool so i'm  definitely going to pick up the full size of this.

 5. Maybelline Master Smokey Eye Pencil, Scorching Brown: I love this for a quick smokey eye. I used this a bunch this month because I needed something quick and will do the job. It's a creamy texture crayon with the product itself on one end and a smudging thing on the other. I don't like the smudgy applicator because it tugs on the eye. Instead I use a synthetic brush to blend it out. Super quick and easy. I believe there's 3 shades, a black, purple and brown. I have the brown shade because I can't be trusted with a black *laughs*.

6.  Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick, 077 ASIA: This is a beautiful pinky-nude shade with a slight hint of mauve. (not as bright in real life). This is a gorgeous shade with a gorgeous formula. It lasts a while on your lips which is a bonus and is super creamy. These are inexpensive and worth the money so I can't recommend them enough, especially this shade. Perfect for every day wear!

7. ESSIE Nail Varnish, Fun In the Gondola: Cutest name ever. This is the most beautiful pink shade. It's very natural looking so it's perfect for school or work. You only need one coat of this, but I do two incase. I've worn this every day this month, only reapplying about 2 or 3 times. It doesn't chip easily which I love and I don't have to wait long for it to dry because that's my biggest dislike about painting my nails!

8. Cutex, 3 In 1, Base Coat, Top Coat & Clear Nail Polish: I've been on a hunt for a good clear nail polish because my nails chip so easily. I use this on top of my Essie nail varnish *as seen above* which I think helped it last longer without chipping. Over all, a great top coat/base coat/clear nail polish. Not that expensive and does the job well.

*sneaking in the music*
1. Don't Be Gone Too Long - Chris Brown ft. Ariana Grande
2. Fireproof - One Direction
3. I'm Not The Only One - Sam Smith
4. You Ruin Me - The Veronicas
5. Lost Stars - Maroon 5
6. My Heart Is Open - Maroon 5 ft. Gwen Stefani
7. One Last Time - Ariana Grande

And that's all my loves. My September Beauty Favourites + Music. I'm so excited for October because it's my Birthday! It would of past by now because this is up the day after....So...What have you been loving this past month?
